TMC & AIAG

RapidWarranty.com’s web-based warranty transaction processing service implements the ATA Technology and Maintenance Council’s (TMC) Recommended Practice 807 (RP-807) The Universal Equipment Claim Process (formerly known as the Universal Claim Form). This, in turn, builds on the TMC/ATA Vehicle Maintenance Reporting Standards (VMRS 2000) which developed the industry-standard codes used by RapidWarranty.com to process vehicle condition data and generate work orders and warranty claims.

The VMRS 2000 standards-based approach has many important advantages for fleets and repair organizations that adopt it. Using VMRS 2000 will help them:

         Support Warranty Claims

         Improve Preventive Maintenance Programs

         Benchmark Equipment and Labor Productivity

         Benchmark Component Performance

         Assist Equipment Replacement Decisions

         Satisfy Reporting Requirements

The Automotive Industry Action Group (AIAG) advanced the effort by working with OEMs and suppliers to “harmonize the XML version of the EDI Transaction 142” with RP-807. As a result, all the fields and codes mean the same things at both ends of the transaction, and the whole process can be done electronically.
