RapidWarranty.com’s web-based warranty transaction processing service
implements the ATA Technology and Maintenance Council’s (TMC) Recommended
Practice 807 (RP-807) The Universal Equipment Claim Process (formerly
known as the Universal Claim Form). This, in turn, builds on the TMC/ATA
Vehicle Maintenance Reporting Standards (VMRS 2000) which developed the
industry-standard codes used by RapidWarranty.com to process vehicle
condition data and generate work orders and warranty claims.
The VMRS 2000 standards-based
approach has many important advantages for fleets and repair organizations
that adopt it. Using VMRS 2000 will help them:
•
Support Warranty Claims
•
Improve Preventive Maintenance Programs
•
Benchmark Equipment and Labor Productivity
•
Benchmark Component Performance
•
Assist Equipment Replacement Decisions
•
Satisfy Reporting Requirements
The Automotive Industry
Action Group (AIAG) advanced the effort by working with OEMs and suppliers
to “harmonize the XML version of the EDI Transaction 142” with RP-807. As a
result, all the fields and codes mean the same things at both ends of the
transaction, and the whole process can be done electronically. |
